Although we will be putting out some produced videos, our viewers have spoken (or at least one has) and they have suggested that they would like to see more behinds the scenes footage! Who would we be to deny them that? So here you have it! All the Mike Connor you could ever want and more!
For those of you without the necessary Quicktime plugin, you can view a lower quality Flash version over at YouTube or Google Video. And for everyone else, download your Theora version here.
[...] John Carey and Matt Shichtman have started putting some video up as part of their efforts to document the “Mozilla experience”. Definitely something to check out. and keep an eye on. The first is Mike Connor EXPOSED! (odd title, but likely a better choice than “Mike Connor Gone Wild”). [...]
[...] Led by interns Matt Shichtman and John Carey, the team has already delivered a couple of promising clips. The first one is a teaser for the whole series which mainly presents Chris Beard, Marketing and Product Manager. The second one features Mike Connor, Firefox Lead Engineer, talking about his experience in the Mozilla project. [...]
Cute… By the way, while maybe this doesn’t fit with your vision (or medium), what about a regular podcast? (accessible via iTunes too)… Although video is nice once in a while (remind us we’re humans), I think many people may like to learn more about Mozilla (everything from the code to behind the scenes) while working on other projects. My other favorite, PHP, has a couple podcasts for it, but Mozilla has just one, and it is obscure (something about a conference) and not updated.
Just a little advice on your video the editing is great but the footage needs some improvements, keep the cam steady guys.
Can you imagine this guy WONTFIXing your bugs? Hahahahhahahaha!
I have FireFox on my new MacBook and a little Sony windows laptop and it is a great great product but please don’t do this video thing – at least not this way. It may work in California – the laid back, done in garage thing but you are trying to get your product used by everyone – people like me and corporations. The videos I have seen make it look like a bunch of 16 year olds have had a video camera for a birthday present and are trying to do a home movie. I know this sounds really negative but Firefox could wipe out both IE and Safara. However, if you give MS the opportunity they could use the videos against you. Think of the advert – one of your videos followed by ‘Luckily somethings are designed by professionals – Internat Explorer’. Please don’t do this.
what exactly did he do for 50 hours a week?
I disagree with David H.. firefox is taking over is because it doesnt come from the borg.. it doesnt reek of mocrosoft’s secrecy and monopolization.. its by the people for the people..
corporations might not use firefox.. but free thinking people with discerning minds will make the choose FF because it represents a better alternative – not a forcefed standard…
i am thankful that the mozilla folks dont have anything to hide.
Great site folks. I’m glad to see some young people making a difference. I think the videos are great. And I can’t wait to get my hands on Firefox 2!
Great video. Cool story! One suggestion, get a Askimet key to help with the comment moderation.
Firefox is great!
It block way more than the E!!!
They actually care about how their software works for the people.
I’m proud to tell people about FF and how much it does more than the other guys.
I’d need all kinds of anti-spam programs with the others but these guys built it for us and get this…FOR FREE!!!
I like free and I like Firefox.
Keep it coming guys :)
I like the videos, both the produced ones and the “unproduced” ones. Remember the impact Scoble has had through his “unproduced” videos. Keep it up.
Firefox kicks ass
I won’t mention any names, but the initials are “David H.” What IF you are correct in your observation of these videos? How much are you out for using FireFox? Probably not a penny. If sixteen year old interns or 60 year old professionals are doing these films I believe they are great, very interesting, and informative. It seems there always has to be a hard axx in the the crowd. Enjoy FireFox, Thunderbird, and alll of the Mozilla Project! BE HAPPY!
Thanks To All The FireFox STAFF,

firefox is like the next gen browser. it has stuff like pop-up blockers and stuff built into it, whereas with IE you have to pay for one. it might not block every single pop-up, but hey, it blocks most and thats enough, and considering its free, is excellent. its even easier to access files youve downloaded, easier to install plugins and easier to install updates. it OWNS.
