Last Night’s Pre-Screening

I took a few photos as people started arriving for the pre-screening last night. You can see the Flickr photo set here. I didn’t get a lot of photos since I was trying to get the videos all set up for the screening but some others at the event did and I expect more photos will be showing up soon.

    Hey,
I hope you guys will run this competition again, maybe next year?
Seeing as it was such a success and well, you can never have enough ads =P

    Sam.

    You’ve made out like bandits.
If it’s an average of 2 person teams, working 2 solid work weeks, at $25 an hour, times 250 entries, you’ve been given a MILLION DOLLARS in salaries alone. That’s excluding the publicity for the product and the residual value of each at as it is aired and screened.

    Total Value of Prizes:
    $12,500

    Net:
    $987,500

    Good move.

Nice to see that you open your doors freely to the community.
I like the banner a lot. Is that the new Flicks logo?

you should think in makeing your commitee a little broader, otherwise it seems to be a little male and racist :) firefox is international, it is used in many parts of the world, and more than half of the population is women …

When will the winners be notified and/or announced?

  7. Sam Erb Says:

If the winners are suppose to be in San Fransico by wednesday it should hopefully be soon…

This site has turned into nothing more than a bash fest. I can\’t wait for my ad to be put up so this esteemed community of film critics can all tear my hard work to pieces.

    I agree Can\’tWait,
this is rediculous, the way they are being slowely put up bit by bit and the general community feedback/commentry is blunt and often pointless,
and if the awards are on thursday,
how on earth would someone from say abudabi get to san fran at such short notice.
it all seems kinda , how can one say, badly organised with not much thought as to how they would deal with all the entries, the administration and the time to upload them.
in a way they are lucky only 250 entries were recieved and not 1000.

I was wondering if the winners have been chosen yet?

    Thanks,

    Tom

The whole competition turned out to be an L.A. film-creator wannabe contest. I wonder if there are any participants outside U.S. ,why didn’t I see any ad with a side-by-side comparison of ie and ff etc. Try it yourself and you’ll see how convincing the results are(loading a webpage for example to test the speed of them). I’m not willing to see a romantic or humorous ad to decide and make the switch from my broswer to another(though I already use firefox).
And one thing about the way clips are uploaded: I think that they should be uploaded all of them and then published all together at the same time to avoid the fact of having the most stupid ad in the first place of the audience’s preference just because the better ones are yet to come…
    CHEERS!
