Apache Point: Zombie's Gone Wild!Towsive’s writer and producer Steve has been a tremendous supporter of Celtx since the start, providing great feedback that continues to help us improve the application. “We used Celtx for script writing and break down and for editing.”

Thanks Steve and break a leg with the release.

Club Cards and More Flyers

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

A number of you requested that we make PDFs available of the club card flyer. It took me a bit longer to get to this than I’d hoped, but here you are:

large - 2.5MB large - 1.4MB
medium - 0.6MB medium - 0.5MB

Additionally, we’ve got three new flyers thanks to the efforts of design volunteer Mya Leigh.

large - 1.1MB large - 160KB large - 0.7MB
large - 169KB large - 114KB large - 146KB

These are black and white for those of you who don’t have color printer access or want to run off hundreds or thousands on a photo-copier :-) Thanks, Mya, for the great additions.

If you’ve got places to distribute these flyers and cards, please do, but please make sure that what you’re doing doesn’t violate any rules or common sense behavior :-)

Found this ad for DJ gear linked to from Kathy’s blog.

What I liked about it: it’s a good concept and one that works visually as well as thematically for the audience they’re trying to reach. I also like that the tech level looks approachable for someone working on an ad in their spare time. Mainly, I think it’s a good idea, executed well.

The background music is definitely not safe for work, so turn down the speakers before you click the link to the Quicktime movie (5MB file).

Club Cards

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

One of our Flicks Friends, the NYf, had an awards ceremony last week and they included a Firefox Flicks club card (a small heavy stock flyer, often used in club promotions) in the gift bags for all the awards attendees. The cards are something I threw together on short order but they came out real nice. One of the results of the short timeline we had with the cards was that I had to order 5,000 of them. With the NYf event, and the 2,000 or so I’m sending off for another event in the UK, I’ve still got a box with at least a couple thousand cards left.

What do you all think is the best way to put these to use? Blake and I could visit some local schools and post them on bulletin boards, or slot them under windshield wipers on cars. We could put small stacks of them in coffee houses and record shops. I’m looking for any suggestions or opinions from you all.

update: I’ll be posting PDFs for the club cards as soon as I get a free minute. Thanks for the great feedback so far.
