Club Cards

One of our Flicks Friends, the NYf, had an awards ceremony last week and they included a Firefox Flicks club card (a small heavy stock flyer, often used in club promotions) in the gift bags for all the awards attendees. The cards are something I threw together on short order but they came out real nice. One of the results of the short timeline we had with the cards was that I had to order 5,000 of them. With the NYf event, and the 2,000 or so I’m sending off for another event in the UK, I’ve still got a box with at least a couple thousand cards left.

What do you all think is the best way to put these to use? Blake and I could visit some local schools and post them on bulletin boards, or slot them under windshield wipers on cars. We could put small stacks of them in coffee houses and record shops. I’m looking for any suggestions or opinions from you all.

update: I’ll be posting PDFs for the club cards as soon as I get a free minute. Thanks for the great feedback so far.

First of all, the cards look great. Could you provide a template for others to have them made? They do sell good card stock for printers.
When I was way younger and I worked in nightclubs, we used to put together a group of employees and hit the beaches, college campuses, apartments etc, and hand deliver small flyers (like yours) to people that we’d target. We didn’t just give them all out in numbers.
Hand delivery makes a personal association between the product and consumer, and if they have any questions, then even better because you get an opportunity to sell your product.
So if time permits this is (was) a very successful method.
I would also think that you guys being where you are, that you’d have access to a lot of small film studios etc. We should also be targeting actors and actresses because it gives them the opp. to get made and they have they have connections to producers of all statures. So if you can hit where they hang out, then I’d distribute the cards to places like that as well.
If you guys handed them out, then people would be even more interested in what you have to sell, after all, you do have star power yourselves.

I don’t know how common the free marketing postcard is abroad , but here in Denmark, Europe you would see at any café or cinema one or more postcard hangers with attractive postcardsand smaller bookmarks, the repertoire changing often. I know of many younger people who like to collect these, and they’re often used by privates for their supposedly intended purpose, namely with a postcage stamparriving in your letterbox, by snail mail - for birthday greetings as well as for party invitations. And, now that I’m looking up the company that started this they’re also offering their banner to show from people’s homepages - for this service they’re actually CHARGING the site owner a neat sum, because the go-cards can be posted online…

http://www.go-card.dk/ well - it is all in Danish but you may get the point!

    yours, Sus

PS I’m so grateful for using Firefox at my home PC as well as on my mac.

I can pass out flyers at school and local malls, i want to emphyse on the older crowd that have been useing ie for awhile and may be more hesitant to switch over but once they see the results there will be no going back. It just might take a walk through for people such as my dad or the older crowd i think if we focus on them FireFox will spread extremely faster.

internet cafes top the list for best places to distribute the cards.. but, what about college campuses in general.
the college crowd, not just those at art schools, are generally the ones most apt to switch to firefox and evangelize about doing so - these cards could easily be left in student union centres and rec halls.
public libraries and local posting boards would also make great hosts for cards and fliers.

You should probably distribute them in internet cafe`s, or in a college or high scholl, that has a background in tech.
